The company Sunsundegui, located in Alsasua, makes the bodywork for coaches and trains. It employs a work force of 275 workers and registered a turnover of €65 million in 2008.
In July 2009, a Downsizing Plan for the temporary lay-off of the entire work force during the months of September and October was approved.
Since October 2009, the date on which the Government of Navarra took control of the company through Sodena and Nafinco, Iturralde y Sagüés Ingenieros has been in charge of turning it around. In order to do this, the engineers have formed a management contract team which is implementing a significant reorganisation of the industrial process, defining new commercial, purchasing and financial policies.
