Pamplona 1996
This wind turbine assembly plant was the first manufacturing plant to be constructed by Gamesa Eólica. The architect, Francisco Mangado, analysed more or less traditional typologies already incorporated into industrial architecture, to resolve the problem derived from the dialogue between two different scales: the production area, which is generally a large open plan area requiring large-scale structures, and the administration and office areas. Likewise, through the use of pure shapes and materials, the project sought to create an image which would help identify the building with the use of clean energies, such as wind power, whilst also offering a high standard of architectural quality which was not then present on the industrial estate.
